City lawyer Mukisa gunned down in Makindye

A Kampala city lawyer, Ronnie Mukisa is the latest victim of gun violence. Mukisa, 45, a lawyer working at IBC Advocates at Namanda Plaza was shot dead on Tuesday night at his home in Makindye Sebagabo, Wakiso district

In a statement, Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan police, says that preliminary investigations show that Mukisa would often return home late.

“However, on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot at approximately 11:30 pm. After parking his dark blue Subaru Legacy registration number UBJ 006K, Mr Mukisa proceeded to close the gate. It was during his return to the apartment that neighbours heard gunshots, prompting them to investigate the commotion,” he said.

He explains that statements from eyewitnesses show that an unidentified individual was seen shooting at Mukisa before briefly withdrawing, only to return and shoot him at close range multiple times in the head.

“The assailant quickly fled the scene and escaped on a waiting motorcycle, the direction of which remains unknown,” Owoyesigyire said.

He says that Kajansi police station dispatched a team to the scene, followed by the introduction of canines to aid in the investigation.

“Despite their efforts, the scent was lost along the way. A thorough search of the area led to the recovery of four projectiles and cartridges,” he said.

Police retrieved Mukisa’s body and transported it to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

“The investigators are interviewing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and exploring all possible leads. They are determined to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrator(s) to justice,” he said.

The shooting comes after a similar shooting of popular vlogger Isma Olaxess in Kyanja by yet-to-be-identified assailants earlier this month.

Many times I laugh at the way Uganda is conducting its security business lately.

If Boda Boda Riders (Uganda's "KIngs of the Roads" ) are aiding criminals to escape and commiting acts of criminality, why cant Boda Boda Transport be Banned altogethr????

The Boda Boda riders are now the actual criminals- and you can tell that from the way they unlawfully bend their motor bike number plates upwards so that a traffic officer or a concerned citizen can not read it in the event that this rider should try to escape..
BAN those boda boda thugs off our roads!!!

Peter, forget it. The Boda Riders are Gen Tibuhaburwa Spies and Pigs (Hatchet [hit] men).

In other words, have you ever heard about Boda-boda 2010 doctrine which says, "Power is more important than the rule of law?

One cannot be naive enough not to understand Uganda survival politics- prominent people shot dead by assassins using Uzi high velocity guns and escaping on big bikes and not the boda boda mopeds referred to .

Up to date no one has been brought to book - one wonders where will this all end - the loss of so many productive people in their prime.

As one opposition politician put it - the world is looking to better lives of its citizens with science and freedoms yet here we are plotting against fellow countrymen.

Well what sort of legal preamble was his devotion. The public are wiser than the government security apparatus.

During the dictatorship of Idi Amin, it was the elites of the Obote ruling class who were the victims of this sort of savage human slaughter! Mind you Idi Amin was a also a UPC military fanatic before he turned coat!

Now aren't the Boda Boda thugs confirming by their actions to be the "pigs" that Gen.Tibuhabirwa M7 always refers angrily to as deserving of death?

won't the citizens of Uganda be moved by their patriotic duty to help the president and the securuty agencies to catch, stop and lynch those "pigs" to death????

Has ANY SINGLE 'pig" been shown to the public since the cry was first sounded that " it is actually the pigs responsible for the death of Abiriga, Kawesi, ..." and others Ugandans???
Just asking questions...
