A 45-year-old man in Pader district has succumbed to head injuries he sustained during a fight over Shs 1,000 in a bar.

Walter Okello, a resident of Lapul sub-county was reportedly hit on the head with a big stick by his colleague Francis Opio while drinking alcohol in a bar in Lagara South village in Ikoyo parish, Lapul sub-county on Sunday night.

It is alleged that Opio picked a quarrel with the deceased over his missing Shs 1,000 leading to a fight. According to police reports, the suspect picked a big stick and hit Okello on his head leaving him unconscious.

Aswa River Region police spokesperson David Ongom Mudong, says that Okello was rushed for emergency medical treatment at Pajule health center IV but was pronounced dead on Monday morning.
