Popular radio and social media comedians, Bizonto have been re-arrested on charges of promoting sectarianism and offensive communication.

Julius Sserwanja also known as Kidomoole, Mbabaali Maliseeri (Uncle Luyuguumo), and Gold Ki Matono, also known as Opeto were arrested today from Radio Simba after posting another satirical skit which, according to the government was used to promote sectarianism. Their counterpart Sssaabakaaki Peter (Omuzinyuuzi) was not found at the station at the time of their arrest.

According to Sserwanja, the group leader, police told them they were arrested for allegedly skipping police bond following their earlier arrest last year. He says they are shocked by the re-arrest because they have been reporting to Kibuli CID headquarters in Kibuli during the prescribed times.

“We have been reporting at Kibuli, but whenever, we went there, the officers handling that case told us the case was going to be closed anytime. They never signed anywhere, on paper. They even thanked us for the new skits," he said.

In their latest skit, they said Ugandans ought to be whistleblowers about the ongoings in the country. They wondered whether God has forsaken Uganda, saying poverty is more rampant, insecurity rife with everyone suspicious of another with belief that they are spying on them. They said Ugandans now fear to hitch car lifts because of the state inspired kidnaps using vehicles infamously known as drones. They also hinted at the election malpractice asking why God just looks on as Ugandans continue to suffer from election malpractice with even the Electoral Commission posting fake election results.

"God is there any particular group that you gave exclusive rights to own all the land in Uganda, they want to take all the land here...God, if you so wish, manifest yourself. Even if it means through the [American ferry recently docked at Mombasa] so be it...God, really why do you continue to just look on as we continue to suffer and be at the mercy of just a few people. God, manifest your power and make some of our tormentors suffer as well. We'll enjoy their suffering when we see them writhing in pain. Did you send these people to be in charge of the lakes that they have now sold?" they said in the skit.

"God, if you want the names of our tormentors we can provide you with the list. They are very few, they borrow money every day to live large and then make us pay back through the nose. They behave like lords of the earth, they own villages and villages of grabbed land. For sure, God what did we do to you? How can you just look as we continue to be tormented by these few people?", they added.

Bizonto were first arrested in July last year after producing and circulating a skit titled "who are our leaders," in which they mockingly prayed for Uganda's top leaders. The seven-minute skit which was uploaded on July 15, 2020, on YouTube, started with a musical and in it, the group members listed all persons holding key positions in the Electoral Commission, Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda Prisons, Uganda National Roads Authority, National Social Security Fund, Bank of Uganda, ministry of Finance, Internal Security Organisation. Nearly all individuals hail from western Uganda.

They listed President Museveni, the Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi, and Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the senior presidential advisor on special operations back then. The others they listed are Bank of Uganda governor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, ministry of Finance permanent secretary Keith Muhakanizi, the commissioner-general of Prisons Dr Johnson Byabashaija, minister of Security Gen Elly Tumwine, Internal Security Organisation boss Col Bagyenda Kaka, Chief of Military Intelligence Maj Gen Abel Kandiho, the commander of the Special Forces Command Maj Gen James Birungi, and the Electoral Commission chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi.

They added that although the known Inspector General of Police (IGP) is Martin Okoth Ochola, the actual police boss then was his deputy Sabiiti Muzeeyi, who also hails from the west. They said that because children were stuck at home following the closure of schools due to the coronavirus pandemic, they needed to be taught to always pray for their leaders.

CID spokesperson, Charles Twine, said that investigations into the matter are now complete and the team members will now be arraigned before Buganda Road Magistrate’s court later today. The file has already been sanctioned by the director of public prosecutions (DPP).

Section 41 of the Penal Code defines sectarianism as the practice of degrading or exposing to hatred or contempt or disaffection for anyone on the basis of religion, tribe, or ethnic or regional origin by utterance, printing, publication or performance any such act. According to the Penal Code whoever engages in such acts commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

I don't think mentioning the areas where most of our important people in Ugandan government are coming from, is a sin ,which can lead to one being imprisoned.

We are all Ugandans at the end of the day but initially, each of us is born as a SON or Daughter of a MR and Mrs. so and so, who happens to live in a particular Village in one area of Uganda.

Eventually he can be identified as coming from one of the Geographical regions of Uganda, BUGANDA, BUSOGA WESTERN REGION, or NORTHERN.

Doing this does not mean you are inciting tribalism.

Recently A British Actor ( KALUUYA ) after getting his OSCAR, all papers in Kampala did not fail to hint on the fact that his Parents are Ugandans. In fact, He was declared Ugandan , yet he was born in Britain.

Can we then take it that we were inciting TRIBALISM in BRITAIN?
Think About it.

Here we go again! M7 has put a system and laws in place which are meant to silence us in submition, not to say anything about the visible injustices.

There's no freedom of speech! M7 is practicing tribalism, nepotism and sectarianism openly, however he wants us to keep quiet and only say, awangale ai Sabalwanyi M7!

How could you arrest the mentally retarded citizens for making fan of the injustices? We need to wake up, this is not limited to Bizonto only, we are all affected.

That's why I bitterly criticize people like Mayiga and C. Lwanga. They clearly know the root cause of the injustices, overstay in power, but keep praising that awangale ai Sabalwanyi M7!

Tabula, thanks!

It's up to Ugandans to bring down the tribalistic system, to make their stand, face to not only themselves, but to Museveni & the world at large!

We are commenting, getting at one another while Museveni tribally divided & rules for life & his military son takes over when he dies, makes no sense!

Uganda is formed by our tribal lands, yet we are ALL slaves of migrant Museveni & his government is accusing comedians in the land he triballistically divided & ruled for being tribalists!

But of course, it's Ugandans to whom tribal lands belong, who are triballistically divided & ruled while migrant Museveni who owns every tribal land, has right to fight tribalists Ugandans!

Uganda situation makes no sense, no wonder the outside world is silent!

Will Ugandans go along with Museveni's son in peace too?

Thanks.

Acholi tribal leader is more evil; he thanks M7 for killing his subjects while UN confined many in refugee camps & those in exile can't dare go back!

Ugandans are slaves & their land belongs to M7, yet they assure 40 years of the demon!

Popular radio and social media comedians,

You MUST ensure the tribalistic system is brought down & this comes FIRST!

Then when Museveni is blocked & forced out in UNITY, Ugandans will have to;

- Reform the Republic, or

- Independent Tribal lands!

Ugandans have no way out, unless they bring down the tribalistic system & UNITE as ONE people, to end M7's family business!

Why are Ugandans slaves of migrant Museveni?

Is Uganda formed by M7's tribal lands?

Tabula, Stop pretending. You know that this skit was made in bad faith to cause hatred against Westerners.

Kaluya was mentioned for his achievement and nothing else. Why didn't Bizonto mention that Baganda are actually majority in government?

In the recent elections Central Buganda lost a total 17 ministers (and that is those who lost elections) meaning that there are more . Why didn't they mention that the Vice President is from Buganda?

Why don't they mention the Baganda in top UPDF command? The Kawagga's, Bbosa, Byekwaso, Nalweyiso etc? Why don't they mention the second cabinet at Mengo only meant for Baganda to eat more with a special President in the names of Kabaka fed on central government goodies?

A recent headcount by Parliament indicated that Baganda were majority among URA staff. This Bizonto thing feels like a tribalistic instrument for those who think that everything must be for Baganda. These were the sources of mayhem in 1966 and are back to their game.

Bizonto are not good enough. They are telling lies. Parliament (the people's representative house) removed term limits and age limits as these legal articles were preventing the sitting President to retire.

He can now rule Uganda for ever. How then are these Bizonto appealing to God to help them overcome their misgivings?

It is like the Jews who crucified Jesus and released Ssabalwanyi Barnabas. And some of them afterwards begged Jesus to forgive them when He rose from the dead!
