At the beginning of this crisis, information circulating suggested that the virus was not effective in hot regions. This made our clueless African leaders to remain complacent and wait for help from China.

It looked as if some people intentionally to have this virus to devastate Africa as has been the case with Ebola. In they would come in all type "help".

This crisis should teach humanity a lesson. If situations become dire everyone cares only for their own.

Therefore we should be prepared to stand on our own feet. After all the common man has always been caring for himself all the time. It is those in power who went in March to foreign countries to import the virus to Uganda.

Social or physical distancing plus Face mask face mask face mask face mask face mask face mask....... I have raised the issue of face mask on this platform severally but journalists at Observer have not even picked it up.

At least you could ask the Health Minister about it during the media briefing but you remain clueless! If a face mask can protect a health worker; it can protect anyone.

It is that simple. With a face mask, social distancing and hand hygiene; we defeat the virus in a short time. You have been waiting for US to endorse it and now they have; may be you will take action to at aleast ask the Health Minister about it.

China's figures don't seem to add up!!

The world was not provided authentic/ accurate numbers of those infected and those dead in China where the disease originated... Other countries thus did not take it as a serious, even deadly emergency...

So they kept their borders open to travellers from China.

A global catastrophe resulted from that- (corroborated by the figures from Italy, UK, Spain, Netherlands, US etc, in the article above)
It's better to make life saving decisions based on accurate numbers/statistics...

I humbmy disagree. It is not about the numbers reported.

At least the world knew right in time that a deadly outbreak had occurred in China but countries of the world thought it would remain in China and therefore took no action until it was too late.

Thanks.

Now the world knows there are no borders; covid-19 was brought to all coners of the earth by those with money travelling by air, not the poor who don't even have money to travel from villages to towns, leave alone feed themselves 2 times a day!

Sabiti, agreed, but,

Face masks have become a problem in USA/Europe as raw material is dwindlling. China is at pain trying to think what to do with used huge bulk of masks that cannot be reused!

Let's hope USA/Europe wake up to see how burial in wooden coffins is more dangerous to nature/climate!

Time the world start using degradable plastic bags for burial!

Countries with huge % of +60 years old have more deaths, but the young with bad health back ground are in danger too!

While the younger in good health have better chance to cure, this will be impossible if covid-19 spreads in Africa as Health Facilities don't have even the basic!

How many Ugandans +60 years still live?

Ugandans MUST throw Museveni out to be able to protect the -35 that make +60% of population!...

...Ugandans should know there has never been a better moment than NOW, that their UNITY & blocking Museveni will confine/protect them - Ugandans abroad won't return home, Americans, Chinese, Europeans won't come to the country & inffect anyone.

Do Ugandans want Museveni out or not?

Why wait for covid-19 to spread, knowing it will be impossible to contain it under Museveni?

This is a God given time for Ugandans & if they don't take this chance, it will be Museveni or covid-19 that will make stand finally!

Europeans call for UNITY day & night to fight covid-19 because it's common enemy!

Museveni & covid-19 will become Ugandans common enemies while our people are powerless at their mercy!

Amooti Mugi, thanks.

This is to question why United Nations existence as it never ensured good governance through out the world, while the body gets billions from member countries.

Money contributed to UN MUST be stopped & directed to fighting covid-19, especially helping countries with almost non existence health care, yet are members of UN!

Do Ugandans want to reach the state of USA/Europe; thousands of deaths/inffection, empty streets, closed shops/public places/schools & fear...?

While USA/Europe provide public/social services, is this so in Uganda?

So, why wait for Museveni & covid-19, when UNITY NOW will end Museveni's rule & give chance for our people to handle matters, without being afraid of Museveni who uses them against one another to ensure his life time rule?

Amooti Mugi, agree.

Chinese who lost their dear ones are questioning their government report, as it doesn't give real picture on the ground!

But it's worse for Ugandans who have no control of their land/institutions/tax money & wait for Museveni to handle matters!

D. Trump & European leaders have already allocated billions to fight covid-19 & tell people hourly what goes on, especially bad news so that people are aware of the danger!
