The body of Barbara Zalwango, a former employee of the United Bank of Africa (UBA) has been discovered in Mukono district.
On Monday, her husband, John Francis Kajumba, filed a case of missing person at Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala after failing to trace her whereabouts physically and on phone for almost 15 hours.
In his statement, Kajumba says he last saw his wife when she was going to meet her sister at Shoprite supermarket at Clock Tower - from where they would connect from and head to their farm in Kakiri in Wakiso district. Unconfirmed reports claim that Zalwango had in her possession an unknown quantity of cash that she was going to use to pay for services and workers at the farm.
Zalwango's body was found in one of the gardens in Katwe village in Nakisinga sub-county in Mukono district. Mulangira Kyanabakka, Zalwango's grandfather says that a bottle and a knife were found next to the body.
Police took the body to Kawolo hospital for a post-mortem. Zalwango, a resident of Entebbe in Wakiso district disappeared in the evening of October 7.
