Renowned Kenyan chef Pascal Matano

Kenyan R&B and reggae artiste Wyre is set to headline the second season of this year’s East African Meat Carnival (EAMC), a quarterly event hosted by The Gardens which is set to return this month on Saturday, June 25, at the Uganda Museum. Wyre was part of the famous East African Bashment Crew which additionally consisted of Bebe Cool and Nazizi.

The event will feature various music and meats from the East African region; Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya, with sizzling, mouth-watering Kenyan nyama choma taking centre stage.

Paul Mwirigi, one of the organizers noted that The East African Meat Carnival (EAMC), is coming back for the second time in a larger venue that is bound to attract more revellers.

"We are excited to host our party-goers and meat lovers as we have a lot in store for them this edition. Legendary East African Artists Jua Cali & Wyre from Kenya will be our event headliners with DJ Suuna Ben as the guest DJ performer.”

Other performers lined up to light up the stage include Ykee Benda, Fik Fameica, Irene Ntale and Winnie Nwagi as well as DJs JO, Deejay Mujo and Deejay Cisse will spin the decks.

The carnival will feature a barbecue with all kinds of meat made with different ingredients by renowned Kenyan chef Pascal Matano alongside Uganda’s chef Mark Kaheru. Other chefs will prepare Kenyan delicacies like authentic goat nyama choma, mutura and mukimo. There will also be food and meat competitions and raffle draws where different prizes line Uganda Airlines tickets will be given out to winners.

Tickets to the event will be available through FlexiPay and Quicket, with a regular ticket going for Shs 40,000 (early bird). There is an all-you-can-eat carnivore area where meat lovers get to eat as much as they want all day at Shs 120,000 if you buy an early bird ticket and Shs 150,000 at the entrance.
