Ruyonga returns in Victory Music concert

Tonight, those with an ear and heart for hip hop ought to go to Legend’s bar and restaurant to witness hip hop at its best served by rapper Edwin Ruyonga.

Last August, he gave us God Over Money, his first mixtape. By then, few people knew him, and if they did, it was for his collaboration with Maurice Kirya. Ruyonga was featured on Kirya’s hit remix, Don’t Wanna Fight. He dropped a verse so ill [hip hop speak for good] that people could not help but notice the new kid on the rap scene.

Little did they know it was the rapper formerly known as Krooked, who used to roll with Bataka Underground and later Lyrical G. The big difference was while in the USA, he gave his life to Jesus and he was back to represent Christ on Uganda’s rap scene.

Exactly a year later, he is back with Victory Music. This time it’s different because he has garnered a bigger fan base of both gospel and secular music thanks to his other songs like Tutuuse, a collaboration with Don Mc and Ija Nkutware with T-Bro, JT and Qwela.

God Over Money was value for money for anybody who appreciates rich lyrical content and rap. On this, other artistes such as: I-Am-Enygma, Lyrical Proof, The Mith, and Nyonyozi featured.

Let’s wait to hear what he has for us this time. Expect big performances from the big names in RnB and hip hop, and possibly a surprise performance from Qwela Band plus Gospel Artistes like Coopy Bly and Levixone. The show kicks off at 8pm.Tickets cost Shs 10,000 and Shs 50,000 VIP.
