World Vision aids nodding families

As Christmas approaches, World Vision has donated food and seeds worth Shs 55m to families affected by the nodding syndrome in Gulu district.

Northern Uganda Team Leader James Kaahwa said the NGO had planned to buy drugs for the affected children but changed at the urging of district authorities because the ministry of health is providing medication. The donation would benefit over 100 households.

This would strengthen the affected families because some medical, psychological and nutritional support measures are known to decrease the progression and spread of the disease.
