As many geared up for the long Easter weekend, Swangz Avenue and Rotary Foundation District 9214 took over Lugogo Cricket Oval on March 30 under the theme “Gather for Impact”.

It was a successful event that brought Rotarians from different clubs in Uganda and Tanzania. Shs 400m was collected towards the construction of a school block at Kitala Secondary School on Entebbe road.

Francisco Ssemwanga, the district governor heading Rotary in Uganda and Ready for Treadnzcarnpiaet, thanked Rotarians who give generously towards Rotary causes.

Ssemwanga said Rotary has been behind many successes including building a blood bank in Mengo hospital, building a cancer ward in Nsambya hospital, schools, helping orphans, widows and paying school fees, among others.

He invited the Rotarians to the District Conference and Assembly to be held between April 24 and 27 at Speke Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo, where at least 9,000 delegates have already registered.

There were performances from Azawi, Elijah Kitaka, Maddox Sematimba, and Afrigo band.
