Hima Cement has commissioned and handed over a newly constructed girls’ dormitory at Luzinga Secondary School in Kamuli district.

Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga commissioned the dormitory on October 10 and praised Hima for its pragmatic corporate social responsibility programme.

“Allow me thank Hima Cement for supporting and facilitating the female students’ learning process here in Busoga. This is a big gesture, and I am honored to have been a part of it,” she remarked.

The new facility will house 300 learners and is supported by a 50,000-litre water tank, modern bathroom facilities and pit latrines.

Israel Tinkasiimire, the Hima sales director, noted that the company is focused to enable Ugandans to better their lives and pledged to continue supporting the government’s efforts in the initiatives of health, education, environment and employment.
