Stanbic bank and DStv have signed a pact to enable their customers make payments for their television subscription with ease.
Using Stanbic’s mobile and internet banking platforms, the partnership will enable customers make payments for both GOtv and DStv directly from their bank accounts.
This, however, will work for those customers who are registered for mobile and internet banking platforms, said Veronica Sentongo, the Stanbic’s head of digital banking. “You can make payments using our mobile banking by dialling *290# or use our online banking.”
Patrick Mweheire, Stanbic bank chief executive, said: “We want to bring the cost of doing business in Uganda down. That is why we are reducing the costs of doing transactions with our customers.”
Charles Hamya, the general manager of multiChoice Uganda, said they chose Stanbic because of the bank’s vast customer base.
“The biggest advantage now is the versatility of the Stanbic digital banking plat- forms that interface directly with our billing system which customers can access at no extra cost.”
