Dr Brian Semujju, a lecturer at Uganda Christian and Makerere universities, says All Stars are rare at official functions in Uganda (situations like office).
“But they allow me to stand out. Mostly, they help me to rebel against some cultural practices that I think we picked from foreigners. I can wear a suit but if I do, it will be on my own terms downstairs,” he says.
According to Blessing Ahereza, she prefers her man in All Star shoes because they give him a nice evening stylish and casual look.
