To look at them, all hard and muscular, one would not imagine that they in any way are affected by hormonal changes. Yes, the androgens make their beards grow and their voices deep and they also make them moody.

Men too can snap, complain and generally be moody all because of a rise and fall in their hormones. When a boy enters puberty, he is prone to these hormonal changes. However, the older they grow, the more they are susceptible to the changes.

Some of the men might not even be aware of this. They can be blue and pensive but do not know what to put it down to. According to www.trosch.org/ide/sex-cycl.html androgens, the male hormones fluctuate in a monthly cycle.

It is when they are low that you will see that jolly fellow looking pathetic. They also gain weight, are indifferent and magnify small problems into big ones at this point in time.

At the point when they have high levels of androgens, they are more energetic, sleepless, are of lower body weight and generally have a sense of well being.

A Danish endocrinologist kept daily records of hormones excreted in his urine. Analysis showed that they rose and fell in a 30 day rhythm.

Beard growth too shows a rhythm of 30 days. Growth on a daily basis increases and decreases in a monthly cycle. Within a given month, a man’s beard will grow more on certain days (those days when the androgens are high) and less on others (this is on those days when androgens are low).

This makes beards a good indicator of a man’s high and low moments. However, at a certain point, a man’s testosterone levels fall while other hormonal levels say oestrogen rise and this is when a man will experience manopause, an equivalent to women’s menopause.

This can be as early as 35 years old, according to www.bodylogicmd.mobi. What can men do to curb the symptoms of these hormonal changes? They should eat right, exercise and avoid polluted environments.

As a by and by, did you know that both men and women have androgens and these are responsible for how we feel about sex. When they are high, we are more welcoming towards sex and the reverse is true.

Androgens are at their highest between 8.00a.m and 12 noon when most people are engaged in their day time activities. Isn’t that a pity?
