Hakim Lwanga of Mutundwe had an argument with his friends about the 1998 Serie ‘A’ teams. He asks: “How many rounds did they play and how many were they? And if possible give us a list of teams which played in Serie ‘B’”.

Hakim, first of all, they were eight clubs which played three rounds, meaning each team played 21 games. The league was won by SC Villa with 45 points, followed by Express with 44 points.
Serie ‘A’ teams were: Umeme, SC Villa, Simba, Express, KCC, Police, Mbale Heroes and Nile. Serie ‘B’ had Health, Iganga, Posta, SCOUL, Pamba, Military, Tooro, Roraima and State House.

KCC FC fan Joseph Lukwago of Wandegeya wants to know why Hassan Biruma, Moses Sentamu and John Tebusweke were omitted from the 1983 team which won the league.

Joseph the above players were left out due to the small contribution they made that season. Biruma played five games and scored one goal, Moses Sentamu played three games while goalie John Tebusweke featured in 9 games. Thirty games were played that season.

Oceania countries have playoffs with South Americans which Australia wanted to avoid. The Asians are easier opponents.
Editor: It’s something not cast in stone. For instance, this year Oceania representatives, New Zealand faced off with Asia flag bearers, Bahrain in one of the World Cup playoffs.

Justine Nassali of Banda wants Zziwa to write SC Villa’s best eleven too.

Thanks Justine, just watch the space, Zziwa will come up with his SC Villa’s best eleven.
