The award was received by Pius Muteekani Katunzi, the newspaper’s Business Development Director, during the launch of the State of Uganda and World Population reports at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Thursday. Commenting on the award, Charles Zirarema, the acting director at the Population Secretariat, applauded The Observer for standing out as the only newspaper that carried a related editorial on World Population Day.
