As celebrations to mark Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 21st coronation anniversary draw near, politicians in the host district, Sembabule, have been urged to put their rivalries on a leash.

Mawogola county (Sembabule district) is the host of this year’s three-day anniversary celebrations, which kick-off on July 29 with the arrival of the Kabaka. There are two significant political camps in the district: one is led by Lwemiyaga MP Theodore Ssekibuko and the former district chairman, now Kamuli RDC, Herman Ssentongo. The other has Foreign Affairs Minister and Mawogola MP Sam Kutesa and district Woman MP Anifa Kawooya.

“We have warned [the politicians in Sembabule] to keep the rivalries out of the Kabaka’s tour,” Kingdom Spokesman Denis Walusimbi told The Observer today.
“Our advice to them is that they should wait until the Kabaka leaves the district on July 31,” Walusimbi added.

The Kabaka is scheduled to arrive in the district on July 29 and tour some projects in Ssekikubo’s Lwemiyaga constituency before going to Kutesa’s Mawogola constituency the following day.

Walusimbi said the organsing committee had so far worked well with the district’s politicians but fears remained that the rivalries could bubble to the fore during the kabaka’s tour. So far, Ssekikubo’s supporters in Lwemiyaga have reconstructed a palace used by Sir Edward Mutesa II on his hunting expeditions in the district.

Kawooya, on the other hand, partially funded the reconstruction of Mutesa’s (Mawogola County chief) house at the Ssaza headquarters, where the Kabaka is expected to camp throughout his three-day tour.

Dont we have any able baganda to contest for these seats, why leave the leadership to intruders, its high time the kabaka anointed a successor, these two should go and contest in katuna, A guy like Kutesa has been in this position for decades, why not give others a chance

Of course these small time politicians want to make a political profile for themselves as they get ready for the dodgy NRM national elections of 2016.

Mengo with non-elected die-hard cultural leaders must accept this fact.

Wadada Rogers:Bravo. That proves that Baganda are not tribalists despite the inborn prejudicial misguided hereditary biased accusations.

Once upon a time, there was one Musoga called Ngoma Ngine in the President's office who was as vocal, though not abusive as loud speaker Mirundi. Ngine was led to believe by the power above that he was so much trusted that he could even contest Mbarara and represent it on NRM ticket!

Tribalism in the image of a barely known Munyankole candidate disastrously trounced him so much that he appears never to have recovered.

Baganda may be proud of their tribe but that can't be misconstrued as tribalism, because people like Kutesa who may have been defeated in their tribal areas can represent non-tribal Baganda.

It is mind-numblingly tedious and boring to keep on accusing Baganda of tribalism when every tribe can settle in Buganda but not, among other areas, Bunyoro where non-Banyoro are called demeaning names.

Bwana Mubiru, too much generalization dampens your point. All communities be it The Gisu or Bukalomojjo will welcome strangers as long as their lives are not put at risk.

What we have here is these Nyamwezi swarming all over the country trying to disorganise and enslave the populace. Club 59ners were in dire need, and did not come to displace anyone! 86FC is on a mission to widen Akazu Empire.

Rebranded NRA is the vehicle. Disunited Uganda happens to be the required medium. If you went beyond Kayunga, dugudugus will be on Ganda enclave and Ganda in Ugandian shores!
Am I lying?
